Oops & kids speak the truth

Well today was Fast Sunday for our ward because last Sunday we had Stake conference however I forgot and ate a bowl of cereal this morning and as usual had a Dr. Pepper around 10:30am ate some yummy cornbread and went to church. When Bishop Jones announced we'd have testimonies for the next 40 minutes McKenna looked at me with big eyes and said Mom we didn't fast! OOPS! I think that Will fasted enough this week for all of us he went for 4 days only having water & OJ when his blood sugar was low!!! What a STUD!

Calvin was the second one up to the microphone to share his testimony...he did a great job and is always so cute. McKenna is way too shy and so she won't do it not even if I try to bribe her. Calvin kept asking me if I was going up so finally I did...who knows what I said because I get so nervous that I probably just babble like a fool but I think Heavenly Father knew I was thanking him for so many wonderful blessings in my life and expressing my firm beliefs in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the LDS religion. Will had to work today so he missed church..probably an added incentive for me to go to the mic. We are just grateful he has work at this point.

After sacrament I went to Nursery of course where I get to be with the 2 year olds and how wonderful it was today...the kids are so darling but sometimes 13-14 little ones can keep us on our toes and today we only had 7. The mello ones too so it was great! After church I got set apart for my calling which I had forgotten that I never was for Nursery (basically you get a special prayer and blessing that you can fulfil the duties of that calling and help willingly as we are all volunteers) and that is always great to get some good words of encouragement.

It was super windy outside today and cloudy, it reallys seems like Autumn is here. When we got home and were ready to eat...Calvin tells me, "Mom, you are really really good at 2 things...one is cooking and the other one is loving us." That melted my heart and honestly I can't think of anything I'd rather him think I was better at because he needs to eat to live and he needs to know that I love him dearly to be happy right? :o) Well of course I said THANK YOU CALVIN and that I loved him to pieces! Then he immediately followed those sweet words up with, "You are also addicted to two things Mom...shopping and Dr. Pepper!" Couldn't we just leave it to the cooking and loving? :o)

Sounds like a good day overall. Calvin is a sweetie. Aren't kids cute. I've had a fun day with my family too. Kyah is saying so much it's hilarious. She can now scale her crib...yikes. She showed us how she did it and man is she fast. Give the kids some love for me.
Love ya,
Brandy

Leslie,
I am so happy you are doing so great! I really miss seeing you! You need to let me know the next time you come to town so we can go to lunch! -- Ginger :)

Cooking and loving (and shopping!) are great things to be good at. I'm not sure what my kids would say if I asked them to identify what I was good at. We need to get together! Tell Will thanks again for helping us with the mirror--it is so nice to have that gone.

That's too funny! Are you going to Round Valley for Thanksgiving? If so, what days? We'll be there sometime, we just don't know which days.

Yes we are going and I think we'll go the day before Thanksgiving and stay until Saturday or Sunday not 100% sure yet.

Hey, Les! That was a sweet post and you did a great job on your testimony yesterday. That Calvin is such a cutie...aren't boys just so great!

PS--- I love DP & shopping, too, although I try to keep them both under control. Funny what our kiddos pick up on!

I also belong to the DP club! I was never really addicted until this pregnancy. Now I can't get enough! I love hearing your testimony. Thanks for sharing it.
