An Opportunity....Possibly

My Sister Brandy - sent me this email....."Hey. I wanted to share a little opportunity...take it for what it's worth! One of my friends owns Impact Guns (http://www.impactguns.com/) they get over a million hits per month. I've been working with them for a while. They are sponsoring my new guns show http://www.lockandloadshow.com/
Anyway, they are doing a deal with Efusion www.Efusjon.com/brandyvega it's different types of energy vitamin packed drinks and they are going to launch it on their impact guns website starting on Monday. They have given me an opportunity to get on board with them. So, I'm just sharing that with you if your interested. Here's how it works Impact Guns hired 2-full time people to handle all of the business for Efusjon which is a multilevel marking company (MLM) I can tell you that I'm not interested in MLM at all. I don't do sales very well! But, I have decided to join and let Impact Guns do all the dirty work...although the drinks are good. I don't have to go out contacting people and trying to sell them drinks because over a million people are going to their site and they have committed 2 full time employees to answer phones and build our teams. It appears to be an amazing opportunity to make a little or a lot of extra money without doing a ton of work because they already have the viewer/people coming to their website.

Because I'm friends with them they have given me this opportunity...they are also allowing any of their employees to sign up and reap the rewards of their labors and website. They told me that I could offer it to a few people. Listen, I don't really care if you join or not but I do want to offer you the chance if you are interested or looking for an opportunity. I will tell you that in a down economy people really turn to MLM to make money. But, with this it's like your out talking to over a million people a month when you don't have to but you get the benefits. I don't know a ton about it but I've decided to sign up. I also got my mom and sister (that would be me) to sign up. I figure it's a gamble worth taking. I just signed up today and it cost $194 bucks total. I'm going to give it about 6 months and see what happens. Now, here's what Impact Guns has said that the group that gets on board with them by tonight at 8pm AZ time will have their full attention, first come first serve so if you miss the 8pm deadline you will still get their help but you will have to do a little more work. We will benefit from the website, they employees will help build their team/business. They are willing to do that because when we all make money they make money. For the $194 bucks I get a case 48 Efusjon drinks, $30 of the cost was the enrollment cost and then tax and shipping. Each month your commitment is $120 for the drink plus shipping and handling. But, you can get out at anytime and there is no commitment! So, if you are interested email me or give me a jingle...to be on the Impact Guns team you need to sign up by tomorrow! Remember, it's a gamble I don't know what will happen but I do believe this could be a huge opportunity and it's one I'm willing to take. (P.S-I'm a penny pincher/tight wad!) ;o) BTW-you won't hurt my feelings either way!" Brandy Vega Richardson

___________________________________________________
I Leslie did sign up today but am only willing to try it for 3 months....Brandy has a little more $ than I do. he he Anyways I think it's a risk worth taking because it is getting in to it during the beginning stages and that's when most MLM companies make people money...but the other big reason that I'm willing and yes Will agreed to let me is because Impact Guns is going to have it on their web page that gets so many hits every month and they will fill in your down lines so I don't have to. I don't want to be the family member or friend that is always trying to sell stuff because that's just not me. There's 15 levels and we would be level 3-4 from what the guy told me. I called Impact Guns myself today because I'm a total tightwad skeptic. I probably will like the drinks but I don't want to be pushing a product. :o)

Who knows I might just have a lot of energy but I think I'll try it out and be daring for once in my life because it could make me rich. Studies show that during slow economic times that MLM companies sore because so many unemployed people do them hence Mary Kay, Amway, Melaluka (spell?) and the list goes on and on. People drink energy drinks all of the time and Acai berry is the newest super antioxidant that people including Oprah's doctors say is fantastic for us so I think this drink has the appeal people want. They have an all natural one and then one that adds sugar and caffeine and two more flavors in the works :o) www.myefusjon.com/lesliewright

Need Ideas & Update...

I would love some ideas on cute vinyl wall sayings for my house....any ideas?

Update on our garden: we have corn, green onions, carrots, zucchini, squash, peppers, watermelon and one tomato plant growing so far! We are excited!!! We go weed once a week usually Saturday mornings. I'll try to take a picture this weekend and post them.

Will is wanting me or anyone actually to cut off his cast. Poor guy is miserable and doesn't go back to the surgeon until May 11th!

Calvin's hair is starting to look cuter and curling around his ears. In case you are wondering he has wanted to grow his hair for about 3 years now but we always made him buzz it into a Cesar cut and spike up the front but he wants it long like the twins on Disney show and all of the skater kids. :o) I'm thinking that when it's 115 degrees outside he might change his mind.

McKenna sang so well at her school talent show! We were so proud of her and she looked adorable. She got a lot of compliments as everyone thought she sounded just like Taylor Swift as she sang, "Love story". She can't wait to turn 11 on May 21st and have a Hawaii themed party.

School is getting out May 28th so they are getting excited for the summer. I wish I didn't have to work during the summer but actually that is our busiest time at the school district at least in Payroll.

I'm feeling pretty good after seeing an Herb Doctor a little over a month ago and taking liquid herbs. I will be going back for a follow up very soon. I am teaching my first real Coupon Sense workshop this weekend in Mesa and am nervous but excited about that.

Will is staying busy and that is a good thing! Houses haven't been this cheap in decades so luckily he is still selling some. When you can get a 2100 sq ft home for $45,000 that is less than 2 years old that is just insane!!! He is a short sale and foreclosure expert and is looking into getting his own broker's license soon. Other than his arm in pain and cast giving him daily grief he is doing well.

Hope you all are doing well. Remember to tell me your ideas for my house walls pretty please.

Be Honest........

Please be totally honest with me even if you think it might hurt my feelings.....do I look old enough in this picture well in any picture for that matter but especially this one to be the Mother of 3 Children with the oldest one being Will my husband who is 4 years older than me?

This is the second time someone has thought Will was MY SON. I had to get an import connection on my computer today by one of our software companies and so as the IT guy gained access on my computer screen from his over in California he says seeing this picture on my background, "Oh is this your family?" I say, "yes my husband and kids." He says, "so you have three children, 2 boys and one girl what a cute family you have." I say, "thank you but we just have two kids." He says, "OH I thought that the one on the bottom was your son...he is a young looking man." I say, "yes he does look young for an almost 40 year old husband." He says, "well he is a young man compared to me as I'm 58 years old and have college age children."

As I said before this is the second time someone has asked me if my husband was MY son from this picture.....so do I look old enough be his Momma????? The other guy from the technology department was in our office a few months ago and looked at the same picture and asked me the same thing and he was face to face with me! When I told him no it was my husband he says that he thought I was way too young to have a son bigger than me but that Will just didn't look old enough to be the Dad in the picture so he assumed I was the Mom. Please be honest....I can take it.....I will immediately hide the picture and start saving for botox or something! I don't want to look 50 years old already. :O) I know Will looks very young but really his Mother? I'm just very curious if I look like his Mom...it's eating away at me and I need to know the truth not just the nice answer. :o)

Will's follow up appt with surgeon

This is Will the day before his follow up visit with the surgeon over at his brother's house for an Easter get together (that post will come later this week). Monday Will and I went to the follow up visit with the surgeon and they took his sling off, then his hard plastic splint and then began cutting this padding stuff.

It sticks to your skin obviously. His elbow was very tender because he wasn't able to bend it for almost 3 weeks.

She tried being careful but it all looked painful.

Still peeling the fuzz off
There it is the incision where he had 8 very large stitches. The picture below is before the doctor came and started pulling them out which was extremely painful. Poor Will about after the sixth one got all pale and almost past out...he was sitting on the table and started tipping over and the doctor helped lay completely over on the table so thank goodness he wasn't standing. It made me sick to my stomach so I couldn't watch.

Viola stitches are out! They were totally shocked that he didn't have more bruising but it is because his skin is so thick that it doesn't show. If you compare it to his other arm it is bruised but not like most people bruise.

Now after lying down for a few minutes and regaining his color we saw the X-rays. It was Will's first time to see all of the metal in his arm and wrist. The metal plate is about 4-5 inches long and at least 1-1.5 inches wide or at least it looks like from my perspective. He has about 12-18 metal pins in there and a few screws. The doctor said he will probably need another surgery and that he still has some fractured bones in there but that it was the best they could do. Due to the complexity he required assistance from another surgeon and they used double the amount of metal than they had anticipated and it was according to the surgeon ranked in the top 3 of worst breaks he has ever operated on. "It is so busted up in there it was just crazy!" The doctor said wash up your arm, we will put a cast on you and I'll see you in 4 weeks. I asked him what the prognosis was and he said it is going to be weeks and weeks and at least one more surgery before we can speculate that.

Will finally getting to get his arm wet. It's been driving him crazy to not be able to itch it, use it, move it etc and most of shower!!! He has to wrap it with a couple of towels then double trash bag it and tie it up tight.

This is what he left in a short arm and wrist cast and his sling. His fingers are still swollen and his elbow is sore but he is thrilled to have the option of straightening out his elbow now. Poor guy has really been a trooper through all of this and never complains.

He had the kids signed their names on his cast the underneath, they thought that was awesome! :O)

5 posts in one night....whew

Yes I'm behind so I just did 5 posts tonight 6 if you count this one! :o)

JA BIZTOWN Fieldtrip...CEO of Wells Fargo Bank

JA BIZTOWN the coolest city in America with the youngest corporate tycoons on every channel!!!
Here's one now beautiful, smart and successful CEO of Wells Fargo Bank McKenna Wright!

Located in Tempe, Arizona is a city called JA Biztown the place where all 10-12 years olds want to be at least for a day that is. You see these amazing citizens are running a city for the day which took months of preparation. Every person applied, interviewed and trained for their positions today. They also began learning how to set up a checking account, write checks, make deposits and balance their checking account as well.

Mrs. Garoutte (telling me McKenna earned her CEO job & was the best candidate)and her class of 5th graders were totally excited for this wonderful opportunity. I had volunteered to accompany McKenna on this field trip a few months before it actually took place and I had a blast although I ended up doing payroll most of the day for the entire mall and utility companies within the city. :o) Funny how that worked out huh!

Anyways McKenna really wanted to be the mayor of the city but her class didn't draw that particular part of the city duties they however got a couple of very predominant businesses though such as Papa John's Pizza and Wells Fargo Bank. One day McKenna asked me, "Mom should I apply for the CEO job or waitress?" I said trying not to laugh...."which one do you want to do most?" She said, "well I really want to be the CEO of Wells Fargo Bank but a girl in my class (I forgot her name) who is really popular told me that I'd better not apply because it was her job." I said "if you want to apply for the CEO job then you shouldn't listen to her!" Kenna said "ya you are right and I'm better at math than she is so I think I'll get the job." I of course told her "right on you go after what you want and don't let anyone try and discourage you!!!" So she worked on her resume, application and letter of intent. She then interviewed the next day with her teacher and in front of her class. A day or two later she came home so excited because she got the CEO of Wells Fargo the most important job at the bank. She told me that she was going to make $9.00 an hour which was the most any of the children were earning that day but wanted to know how much real CEO's made and when I told her in the millions she decided that she in fact wants to become a real CEO!!! :o)
It was so cute to see her in action! This town had all sorts of businesses within it....utility companies, a TV station, a Radio Station, Best Buy & printing/copy store, Diamond Backs stadium, a health clinic, UPS Store, Attorney's office, Beach Store, Papa John's pizza, US Airlines with a real looking front of an airplane, a City Hall, I'm forgetting the rest but several neat little places that looked so real. They did live interviews all day...had a radio station with DJ's taking requests and jamming out the town all day!
All day the kids had to work as if they would in real life and on their breaks they had those handy dandy check books to buy things and deposit their paychecks they got paid twice that day and was able to take a lunch break and eat as well. Several CEO's, CFO's and Payroll Officers had to work through lunch to complete their tasks. The poor boy I was helping for the majority of the time was literally sweating as he paid bills, created deposits and did payroll for several of the businesses there. He told me that he didn't want to do payroll when he grew up and I told him that neither did I!!! ha ha He earned $8.00 per hour.

McKenna said she loved every bit of it except when the customers got upset waiting in line and yelled at her. I laughed and told her to get used to it. She put me to work a couple of times for her and I think really enjoyed bossing her staff and her Mother around!!! :o) At the end of the day she got to speak at City Hall and give out awards to her staff and to the CFO's of other businesses that balanced at the end of the day with the city's local bank Wells Fargo. Her staff one of which is her one of her best friends Kaylee said McKenna was a very nice boss.

And McKenna's favorite customer CFO of Papa John's Pizza another young, handsome finance tycoon....Conner Scoresby who was earning $8.50 per hour. (notice the smile is gone because the shy & awkward kicked in) :o)
It was an awesome field trip for the kids, staff and parents! She gets to go back in 6th grade to do JA Biztown 2 where they focus on more financial things that grown ups do. We can't wait to do it again!!!

So proud of this beautiful little CEO! Never give up on your dreams and shoot for the stars sweetie you will and can do amazing things!!!

1st Grader's Spring Concert 3/24/09

Calvin and the rest of the 1st Graders performed a variety of fun Spring time songs for us Tuesday, March 24th, 2009. It was cute and the last song they all did the chicken dance along with all of the teachers & principal and MES staff. According to Calvin's teacher Mrs. Jenkins, "Calvin's got perfect pitch and rhythm! And I know pitch and I surely know rhythm coming from a lady of color". Mrs. Jenkins also told me that Calvin and her always lead the class in song and dance and that we should seriously pursue this for him.
Here's Calvin on the front row on the end or lower left side. (he has a sweat shirt tied around his wast as he thought he might be cold I guess) :o) This was the day Will broke his wrist but he still came to the lovely performance.

McKenna we're so proud!!!

Still catching up....this too happened on Friday, March 20th, 2009. McKenna was awarded with Honor Roll (she had all A's and 1 one uno B) along with Perfect Attendance.

Her classmate and secret crush oh I mean friend Conner Scoresby received Principals Award (straight A's & 2nd Place for Academic Bowl). Here he is with his Mom & my friend Jenna. So cute!
Luckily I was able to take my lunch break during her ceremony.

We are so proud of you sweet little healthy smarty pants Kenna Benna! :o) Love you too!

Our Birthday Boy - March 20th, 2009

Obviously I'm way behind in my posts because this is from 3/20 and it is now 4/5 but I'm trying to go in date order and catch up! :o)
Our baby turned 7 on March 20th, 2009 and we can hardly believe that 7 years have gone by so quickly. What a joy Calvin has been these past 7 years! Truly he is such a good boy...almost always happy, helpful and positive. He gives some of the best prayers I've ever heard. He always lends a helping hand and is a great little missionary too always going the extra mile.

Calvin finally got his DS that he has wanted for over a year! He was so disappointed when Santa Claus didn't deliver on his pinkie swear promise to get him one for Christmas....see the helper Santa at the Ward Christmas party didn't know what a DS was or how expensive they were and that the elves didn't make them in the North Pole. Anyways he got his BLUE DS and many other wonderful things for his birthday and had more than 20 kids over to celebrate it with him. We had pizza, cup cakes, cake and ice cream. He said it was the best day of his life and I believe him! He was smiling from ear to ear the entire night and for the next several days. Totally worth it!!!

We love you so much little buddy! Happy Birthday!!

Community Garden

So when my Mom & Sister were here visiting March 14th a farmer in our stake offered the stake to use 2 acres of his farm to plant a garden. The 2 acres were divided into even plots for each family that decided to participate. The rules are....you plant the items you want to grow and you come every Saturday morning to pull the weeds and harvest your crop as it is ready. If you don't weed then he will till it up and you will not have anything to harvest. The farmer irrigates it otherwise waters for us weekly. So we went out in full force on that Saturday as a family to plant our garden...Adia & Brandy joined us while Mom stayed home with Kyah and Chloe. Brandy actually did a story on it and took some pictures for her new TV show called The Mormon Factor, so she interviewed us, the kids and the generous farmer. The farmer has a huge section for charity of which it is a coalition of Christian Churches that will weed and harvest it to donate to local food banks. What an AWESOME and GENEROUS farmer Troy Skousen is!!

Because there were a couple of extra plots and we had some extra seeds & plants Will and a buddy Ryan Clouse decided to share another plot or two and went the next Saturday at 6am to plant them. These pictures are of them the following Saturday.

Quick update on Will's surgery

The surgeon said that it was much more complex than he originally thought and took double the amount of metal and pins than he anticipated. He showed me the x-rays and it looked crazy. He doesn't know if it will require more surgeries as only time will tell. During the surgery Will's blood sugar levels spiked and went up too high so they gave him some insulin and then it went too low. They had to give him sugar water in his IV and then it went too high again...needless to say the surgery took longer and we wondered if he would ever get out of recovery. Maggie Will's Mom joined me today which was very nice. At one point the nurse came out and said that they were going to get him dressed and sit up a little in a recliner and come and get us so we could be with him as he was becoming more alert but after 1 hr 10 minutes we both began to worry so we stood right by the door and caught the next surgeon as he walked out. The 2 doctors and nurse told me that this is a very serious surgery that it is extremely painful when they go through the bone with pins etc. They put him under of course for the surgery but also gave him a block in his shoulder because they were going through so much bone. The pain levels were too high as well to release him so after being there from 8:30am they finally released him at about 4:30 or 5pm but before we could drive out of the parking lot he vomited 3 times. I felt so bad for him. His fingers are so swollen they look they are going to burst. He has a cast/splint on up past his elbow and will have it for probably 8 weeks. We go back to the surgeon's office in 10 days. He has to be watched 24/7 for the next 48 hours. He can't walk by himself either. I also have to rub his legs and he has those thigh high tight things on to try and help avoid blood clots. I have to elevate his arm and ice it every couple of hours and check his fingers and make him move them which is painful. They said that the meds will only take the edge off of the pain that it won't go away anytime soon. He is so nauseated and pale it makes me want to cry.

April Fools

So today as I racked my brain about a good April Fool trick to play on Will I thought...ok I'll text him and tell him that they finally told us how the budget cuts are going to effect the district employees...

My text: just found out what they r doing with the budget cuts. I'm down to 10 months now and 30 hrs a week and 50% pay cut...I can't believe this!

His reply: April fools

Dang it he didn't fall for it....so thinking quickly I decided to text back...

Me: well it sounds better than what really happened today...I backed into my co-workers car in the parking lot!

Him: tell me you are joking

Here's me laughing with my co-workers

Me: nope backed right into them I can't believe it!

Him: r u stealing my meds? what the crap?

Me: no maybe I should take some of ur meds then I wouldn't crash into stupid cars!

Laugh laugh laugh no text's back later after work the kids and I run to the grocery store and when we came out there was an Isuzu Rodeo suv parked next to me and it was missing the back spare tire on the back tailgate and looked like it had been crashed. My perfect opportunity to snap a picture with my cell and send it to Will and show him the car that I hit today. :o) I know mean!

He replies: please tell me you are joking

Me: ok i am

Him: you are a bad girl and in trouble

Me: I just said what you wanted me to say I didn't say it was true

Him: u r kidding right?

Me: after about 10 minutes reply back "April fools babe"

Him: ha ha

Me: pretty good huh I couldn't pass up sending you the picture so funny ha ha ha

Him: ha ha

I'll add the picture of the car tomorrow when I down load it. I thought it was kind of funny and he needed a pick me up before his surgery tomorrow right? :o)
