And the Results ARE............

Today Will and I headed into Chandler to get my level 2 ultrasound done and just to make sure that we would be able to tell the baby's gender I had some Mexican food and some Dr. Pepper! Baby was flipping around and very active so obviously caffeine works so does chocolate combined with caffeine. :o) Unfortunately I felt sick from the sugar in the soda afterwards but at least the baby wasn't sleeping. :o)

Almost smiling and didn't like the pictures at all....arm blocks the entire time! They don't measure the length of the baby during the ultrasound but measure just about everything else. The baby is approximately 5.5 inches and weights .5 - .6 ounces now. I feel movement all of the time especially after that Dr. Pepper at Somburros.

Ok so one shot of the cute little face...the nose looks a little red along with the cute mohawk. :o) Maybe this baby will have some hair...it looked a bit like red hair in the ultrasound but it's hard to tell.

Kind of a blurry side view but you can see the outline of the profile and the arm again right by the little face.
This one was a print out that the doctor did after the technician had completed the ultrasound so I have a printed out black and white copy that I tried to take a picture of seen above which isn't nearly as good as the picture is in person.

This baby really likes those arms in front of it's little face. The baby didn't suck it's thumb like Calvin did during his ultrasound but did yawn once towards the end. :o) Amazing what you can see in these 3 & 4D ultrasounds!!!

Here's a little smile and a little wave. :o) We were thrilled to hear that the baby is 99% healthy and well with a tiny little speck of calcification/mineralization in it's heart which occurs in 5 to 15% of all babies but doesn't cause any problems whatsoever they just have to tell you what they find. Due to my "advanced maternal age" (they make me feel like I'm an old lady or something) and previous complications I am considered a little bit high risk and am carrying low so they will keep an eye on that which basically doesn't mean anything. I carried low with the other two and the baby is thankfully totally healthy, heart, brain, spine, blood flow, umbilical cord flow and this Momma is so excited and feeling pretty good these days!
It did scare us for a minute when we had to wait for 25 minutes for the doctor to come in and talk to us and then explain the echogenic intacardiac foci what I described above the speck the size of a piece of sand in the heart and then say, "well the baby is perfect in every other way and so this will have no effect and is 99% healthy". Isn't she pretty!!!! 80% of you were right in your guess to a girl! Sorry for you all that guessed/wanted a boy. Maybe if we are blessed again it will be a boy next time?? McKenna is so very excited and Calvin is more excited than we expected him to be. I asked him this morning if he would be disappointed if we come home and tell him he is going to have a baby sister and he says, "no I'll just be happy to be a big brother....pauses and then says Mom will get to bring the baby home today?" I explained no that we would just get to know if it was a boy or a girl and if it was healthy or not. He says, "well how long before we get to bring her home? so I say well not until Feb so after Christmas and after New Years...he says "wow that's a long time to wait to bring a baby home from the hospital!". Kids are so funny. :o) Due date stayed the same Valentines day but my doctor says we will have the c-section during the 39th week so that means I'm half way done! :o) McKenna hasn't stopped talking about how excited she is to have a baby sister. She hopes she looks and acts just like her but maybe a little better in her words...so cute. Calvin kissed and hugged me for bed and then kissed and hugged my belly and said I love you little sister. McKenna just patted my tummy and said I love you little sister and I can't wait to hold you. We are thrilled five long years past and we can't wait to start all over again....now if we could just agree on my favorite name I mean a name. :o)

Yay! A girl! There seems to be a good mix of boys vs. girls coming in the ward. It's so fun to find out! Congratulations!

Leslie,
I am so excited for you guys! And I bet McKenna and Calvin are thrilled to have a baby in the house. They may change their minds after the sleepless nights...just teasing. I think that those babies are worth every minute of lost sleep.
