Oops & kids speak the truth

Well today was Fast Sunday for our ward because last Sunday we had Stake conference however I forgot and ate a bowl of cereal this morning and as usual had a Dr. Pepper around 10:30am ate some yummy cornbread and went to church. When Bishop Jones announced we'd have testimonies for the next 40 minutes McKenna looked at me with big eyes and said Mom we didn't fast! OOPS! I think that Will fasted enough this week for all of us he went for 4 days only having water & OJ when his blood sugar was low!!! What a STUD!

Calvin was the second one up to the microphone to share his testimony...he did a great job and is always so cute. McKenna is way too shy and so she won't do it not even if I try to bribe her. Calvin kept asking me if I was going up so finally I did...who knows what I said because I get so nervous that I probably just babble like a fool but I think Heavenly Father knew I was thanking him for so many wonderful blessings in my life and expressing my firm beliefs in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the LDS religion. Will had to work today so he missed church..probably an added incentive for me to go to the mic. We are just grateful he has work at this point.

After sacrament I went to Nursery of course where I get to be with the 2 year olds and how wonderful it was today...the kids are so darling but sometimes 13-14 little ones can keep us on our toes and today we only had 7. The mello ones too so it was great! After church I got set apart for my calling which I had forgotten that I never was for Nursery (basically you get a special prayer and blessing that you can fulfil the duties of that calling and help willingly as we are all volunteers) and that is always great to get some good words of encouragement.

It was super windy outside today and cloudy, it reallys seems like Autumn is here. When we got home and were ready to eat...Calvin tells me, "Mom, you are really really good at 2 things...one is cooking and the other one is loving us." That melted my heart and honestly I can't think of anything I'd rather him think I was better at because he needs to eat to live and he needs to know that I love him dearly to be happy right? :o) Well of course I said THANK YOU CALVIN and that I loved him to pieces! Then he immediately followed those sweet words up with, "You are also addicted to two things Mom...shopping and Dr. Pepper!" Couldn't we just leave it to the cooking and loving? :o)

BOO BOO BOOO

Boo Hoo we have a new Commander and Chief and he's not who I was sincerely hoping & praying for! Luckily we still have out Ultimate Commander and Chief and Creator Heavenly Father to help us through these troubled times. I do want to say one thing and that is that I'm very proud to have a Black/African American as a President it's not his color that I worry about it's his socialist views and communist ideals that have me worried. I hope I'm wrong and he is makes the USA a better place I truly hope.

I have the utmost respect for Senator John McCain and appreciate all of his efforts for bettering America and I truly LOVED his speech tonight. He is such a patriot and was so positive despite his devastating loss tonight.

God Bless America now more than ever! I think I'll go cry myself to sleep and tomorrow will begin coupon sensing my brains out so I can be a little more prepared in the food, cleaning and necesitites departments in my home.

Please Go VOTE

"Tomorrow is the big day that our country could literally change as we know it. We could go from a democracy to a socialist/communist country. Hope you all like high taxes and sharing all of your hard earned money with those less fortunate or just plain lazy. The newest rhetoric spewing out of his mouth...I'll bankrupt the coal mines. Where did this guy come from and why are Americans so blinded by Barack Obama? It's almost like he has people in a trance. Wow, I'm so surprised that supposedly smart individuals can't see through all of this. I'm not a political expert by any stretch of the imagination but I do know enough to say NO WAY to this guy. We had an expert on the show the other day and he said that by March Americans will realize what a huge mistake they have made. I was talking to a friend the other day who said our wicked nation has brought this upon our selves. We have been caught up in the worldly aspects of life, we have become a nation of greed, sex, lies, we have taken God out of everything...so, when we really need him he won't be there for us. He called it cleansing and said that Obama is the modern day Korihor. Why do we have the housing crisis??? All of those things plus a nation full of greedy and unlawful lawmakers and CEOs.

How long did we think that Heavenly Father would watch over us. Yes, I'm ranting. I'm upset that tomorrow Barack Obama will probably become our new President. That should scare the crud out of you...I know it does me. I don't want to be Debbie Downer but I will say get your house in order. That's my advice. I think all the years of church officials telling us to get our act together is for the road ahead...the road we are getting ready to travel down...like it or not. Boyd K. Packer gave a talk recently at his ward during fast meeting and it's been leaked out and some say it was exaggerated but his secretary confirmed that he did speak and that he did touch on these important subjects although some of it could have been transcribed wrong...by the way, you're not supposed to take notes like that in a meeting...only general conf. Regardless, Elder Packer basically said times are going to get tough...be prepared.

I hope that there is some sort of miracle tomorrow and that John McCain wins the election. Not because I think he's the best person to be our Commander in Chief but he is the best of the worst. Encourage every American you know to go vote! I would also recommend a healthy dose of prayer!!! Heaven knows we need it. "
