MUD FOOTBALL & BBQ

So yesterday we had a Stake Mud Football and BBQ out at the UofA Farms here in Maricopa. We had no idea what we were in for because we'd never been or seen anything like it. We were warned that our clothes would be ruined and that it was family friendly. I can tell you this much the only football being played was in the furtherest mud area with the grown men...the majority of mud-goers walked and played in the mud without footballs.

During the mud playing a couple of Mom's were pushed and taken down into the mud as you can see Mandy Malan (my visiting teaching partner) didn't go down easily and ended up getting the paid culprit worse then he got her. Yes her husband who has a cast on his foot paid the boy $10 to do it so I'm sure he'll be on the couch for a few nights. :o)

Calvin & Will loved it getting all sorts of muddy! McKenna and her friend Sierra decided to walk around which was some serious exercise because the mud went to almost their knees. They walked for almost 1.5 hours out there! I did get in but made sure to keep my camera handy so no one would come and push me down into the mud....I just stood near the shore which was to my knees almost!

After we had muddy fun we headed over to the grassy area for the BBQ....wow Brother Knight can bbq like none other! He cooked the meat for several days and then made his own bbq sauce which was outstanding we had a ton of side dishes and watermelon and sat outside enjoying the 85 degree weather until dusk.
