Shamrock Farms Fieldtrip...
A couple of weeks ago I got to take 6 hours off of work one day and go with Calvin & the 1st graders to Shamrock Farms which is about 15 minutes from here. Calvin loved riding for the fourth time on a school bus. They have it all set up for tours and it is really neat! We rode a tram all around the dairy went in the observation room to see them milking 200 cows at once and feel the metal tubes of the warm milk and then the cold milk as they cool it within 5 seconds and keep it 34 degrees or less. We learned that this female farm only allows cows who are 2 years old and have had at least one calf to produce milk. We saw all of the pregnant cows who were kept separate. We saw the cows that just had babies also kept separate and then we saw the babies. The boys are shipped off and although there are over 10,000 cows on the farm only 90 of them are bulls! By the way we didn't see them and they were kept far away from all of the girls. The only smelly place where where they put all of the manure to turn into compose/fertilizer. It was the cleanest and best smelling farm I've ever seen! We even got to see where the organic cows live out in the pasture. They had a cute playground for the kids to play at...all sorts of cute stuff....bottles of sour cream punching bags, cottage cheese slides, bottle of milk that was stairs to some other slides, a milk truck, an ice cream maze and of course a milk simulator & cows you could climb up on and ride. After we trammed around the farm, played on the equipment, named & fed a baby cow we went to the big red barn where Roxy the Cow was showering but we sat and ate lunch and the farm provided us all chocolate milk and then ice cream sandwiches or ice cream Popsicles for dessert. YUMMY! I had a blast and so did the first graders!
Calvin & classmates driving the milk truck.
I wasn't mad....
This is what you get when you take your own picture!

Mrs. Jenkins right in front of the milk truck she is a great teacher!

Isn't this a cool playground?

Calvin & his girlfriends Maritza & Ariana
He LOVES Maritza loves her :o) He tells us that he thinks she is the one that he will marry because they have so many things in common...this kid is 6 what is he thinking? He definitely has a preference for dark hair and brown eyes but all of them are totally sweet! The girls actually argued over who could sit by him there were 3 of them and Mrs. Jenkins said that he has many girls follow him around. It's got to be his charm always complimenting the girls on their clothes & hair etc. she says. :o) Anyways we had a great time at the farm and I think we'll go back as a family with friends. http://www.shamrockfarmstour.com/

Mr. Bedhead sitting in Kenna's room chair today. Gotta love it when kids have their own idea on what hair looks good and be patient enough to let them grow it out even with a cowlick right upfront. :o) No it wasn't from Shamrock Farms.

And there you have it our Sunday and everybody is happy! Especially me since I've missed blogging so much and was able to today! I'm on facebook but I guess it hasn't excited me as much as blogging. I'm still new at it. We are also very excited that we don't have work or school tomorrow! YIPPEE

So today Calvin had a little bit of a fever, sore throat and headache...said he didn't feel good enough to go to church so he and I stayed home. We had his favorite for breakfast maple & brown sugar Malt0meal and then we gave Chloe a bath.
She had him laughing in no time!
Her right after a bath & blow dry...fluffy!
Chloe a few days ago ringing her bell to go outside
Please let me go outside....I rang the bell.
A quick update on Chloe she weights 2.6 lbs now and eats all of the time little piggy! She is getting better at potty training and tries to bark and growl every now and then which cracks us up. She still takes lots of naps and is 12 weeks old now we hope she doesn't get over 5 lbs as they usually double their weight at this age and because she always wants to eat she probably will. I was hoping she would be 3-4 lbs because her Mom is just under 5 lbs and her Dad was right around 2.5 lbs. She doesn't like bows in her hair but we are trying to encourage her to like them. :o) Her hair is starting to turn the gray color which they call blue for some reason mostly on the top of her head. The kids love her to death and want to carry her everywhere. We did have a little mishap the first week we had her when a friend was over and accidentally dropped her outside but she was ok. We are training her to ring a bell to go outside and at this point I think she just likes attacking the bell but she has rang it a couple of times and then gone outside and went potty. YEAH!! We still all love her and think she is very adorable. We fluff her all up and make her smell pretty too! Just like the little princess pooch she is.

Back to our Sunday....McKenna & Will returned home from church and poor McKenna is either getting a cold or her allergies are terrible today. You can see in the pictures her eyes are all red she has the sniffles too.
On her bed with the puppy.
My two pretty in pink princesses!
Dad sleeping on the couch. Sunday naps are the best!
I decided to blog while Will was napping and the kids were in my office drawing on the dry erase board. Chloe doing her part delivering the eraser when needed.

Cute, cute, cute! I interviewed David Osmond on Friday and he has a litte yorkie that looks just like Chloe, theirs is 5yrs old and her name is Trinity. The kids look cute and Shamrock Farms seems like a great place to take the kids and learn. I'm glad you were able to blog. It's nice to catch up with you! Seems like you are always so swamped.
Love ya.
Your puppy is SO cute! I could eat her! {But I won't.}
I hope you guys are having fun on your day off today!
We totally missed Calvin on Sunday, I hope he is feeling better and it's good to see what you guys are up to. I still love your puppy. She is so cute.
