Happy 79th Birthday Grandma Dear

Glenna Rose Crandell Hathcock Devine

One of my absolute most favorite ladies is turning 79 years young today and I just wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday! My Grandma Glenna has been such an inspiration to me in my life and such a wonderful lady. I think every single one of her 50+ grandkids feels like they are her favorite...impressive! She has 10 living children and 3 that passed away. She unfortunately has been widowed 3 times...the first was my Grandpa Leslie who is the man of her dreams who is the Father of all 13 children who was tragically killed in a semi-truck accident 3 weeks before I was born; then she re-married a neat man who I slightly recall but he had a severe stroke and later died after only 5 years of marriage to Grandma; later she married Charlie Bob the only Grandpa that I ever really knew and was married to him for 27 years until he recently passed away at age 82.

Grandma Glenna has so many wonderful talents and abilities including:

1. Cooking/Baking wow is all I can say she is such a great cook & baker!

2. Sewing she is excellent and has made many of her granddaughter's wedding dresses including mine

3. Singing she has an excellent alto voice

4. Whistling funny enough my Granny can whistle like a bird and makes a variety of different sounds whistling we all love it

5. Dancing watch out because she can dance with the best of them and loves honky tonk music

6. Athletic she has always been very athletic and I think that is why she has remained so healthy for all of these years she is hard working physically and very strong

7. Beautiful inside and out! (a little fact about her is that in 40's my Grandma Glenna Rose Crandell at that time OK OK I am so sorry she was NOT Miss New Mexico I was mistaken she was a beauty queen for a high school pageant and all of these years I thought that picture was her being Miss New Mexico....she could have been in my opinion and is still beautiful!

8. Loves everyone...she seriously loves everyone and will hug and kiss any person she meets she can't walk past a baby without stopping either, she is just a sweet sweet lady.

And so many more!

I admire and love my Grandma more than she will ever know! She has always been there for me, always made me feel important and has always loved me. I cherish every moment with her whether it's watching Jeopardy & Wheel-a-fortune her two fav's or baking her famous holiday candies she is a joy to be around!

I love you Grandma & hope you have a fantastic year!!!

I agree, Grandma is the best. She is such a wonderful role model, whether she knows it or not. Jarrod and I had so much fun spending a week at her house one summer. Grandpa took us to the lake almost every day and H would just sit in the shade in the car and wait for us to be done playing. And on Sunday he would give Grandma a break for cooking breakfast by going to McDonald's for his weekly breakfast burrito (boreeto as Grandpa said). I love them both very much and I can tell that you do too.
