May 1st weekend

These pictures aren't in order of events...I tried I can't click and drag them anymore and am not sure why it's very frustrating so after trying for an hour I'll just leave them in the wrong order and explain. April 29th right after work we headed to Springerville, AZ for my Grandma's 80th birthday party. We stayed at my cousin Richie's house. The party was the next day Saturday, May 1st even though my Grandma Glenna's birthday is actually May3rd. Due to the amount of family coming we had it at the LDS church and all of my talented aunts made yummy Mexican food and lots of different cakes. There's lots of pictures from the actual party at the church. Grandma's brothers and sisters well most of them came and then 8 out of 10 of my Grandma's kids were there. We had good food and a great visit! Sophia was held by practically everyone there and kept on smiling! After the party and visiting we (Will, I and some other family members) headed to Show Low for the races where Richie my cousin is defending his title as NASCAR rooky of the year, track champion and state champion! We're so proud! The kids had a blast babysitting Sophia with Grammy back at Richie's house. At the races it was so so so cold but we had a blast watching cousin Richie and Uncle Richard race. The next day we woke up to a snowy blizzard! We got home fine but unfortunately saw a couple of tragic accidents or at least they appeared to be tragic. Richie's race carThe kids playing at Grandma's 80th birthday party! Richie & Mandy's house Sunday morning after the initial snowing. Picture courteous of my cousin Rachel.

Driving home looked just like this for us too...I took this off of Rachel's blog.

The sunset Saturday night as we were driving over to Show Low, my cousin Rachel took this picture.

Dear Toothfairy.....I crashed my bike today

Dear Toothfairy,

I crashed my bike today and I have another tooth for you. This tooth is so special that my Mom even took a picture of it before I put it under my pillow. What does crashing my bike have to do with my tooth you ask....well you see I was riding my bike down the street with my friend Riley who was behind me and as I was pedaling fast I turned back to see where Riley was and the next thing I knew was I was flying off my bike towards the curb yelling. As I came to a stop I noticed that the curb didn't taste good and my bike was lying next to a trash can which was out on the street for trash day. I quickly spit the tooth out of my mouth into my hand because it was on my tongue and I almost swallowed it. Riley's parents hurried over to help me up and carried me home a few houses down where Dad rinsed out my mouth out. I laid down because I had a huge headache and waited for Mom to come home from her first day back at work from being out on maternity leave. It knocked out my left side tooth next to my permanent front teeth and also shoved the permanent tooth backwards a bit.

When Mom came in from the garage door, Dad told her that Calvin crashed his bike and knocked his tooth out and after much examining pictures were the next obvious thing to do. As you can see this tooth is very special because it caused me some bumps, bruises and swelling so I really hope I get more than $1.00 for it cause it's extra special.

See how special it is toothfairy!

I hope you feel the same as I do.
With much love,
Calvin
PS "are you a boy or a girl? are you big or are you small? do you fly? what do you do with all of the teeth? what's your name? where do you live? I love you toothfairy" only this part was actually written by Calvin on the actual note he left the toothfairy with his tooth. :o) The above letter to the toothfairy was written by Calvin & his Mommy for entertainment purposes and to explain the events that occurred. :o)

4 Generations with my sister Brandy and her girls.
Brandy and her girls came Wednesday, April 7th and stayed until Monday, April 12th it was so awesome to be able to hang out with her and just chit chat etc. The girls are so cute and had a blast playing with the kids. They loved the play set outside. It was so funny every time Kyah came in she had sand in her pants pulling them down showing us her crack and then asked Brandy for some assistance getting it out. Twice it was almost a full cup of sand...talk about uncomfortable! :o) We ended up taking the kids out of school early on Friday to pick up Mom & Jim from the airport, went out to eat at every one's favorite Mexican food joint and then Brandy took the kids to see "How to train your Dragon" and they all loved it!

Cute Cousins! Mandy and her kiddos Keenan, Kortni and Bella came Saturday and then took McKenna with them to their hotel to stay the night. Kortni has been dying to see Sophia and she held her and carried her all around it was so cute! They had fun swimming and going to Olive Garden for dinner. It was great seeing Mandy we just love her & Richie & their kids!!! We missed the other family members that weren't able to make it due to tragedy but appreciate them wanting to come.
Brandy, Kyah and Adia
Cute Cute Cute
This was Saturday right before Calvin's baptism all of the kids were ready to go so Pops snapped a few pictures. Calvin was so excited he could hardly stand it. Adia was also very excited because she turns 8 in May and will get baptized! Calvin personally called everyone that participated to ask them to participate...Grammy Sherri McDaniel to give the opening prayer which terrified her, he originally wanted her to talk but we told him that would make her too nervous, McKenna as the pianist, Kathy Amador as the chorister, Tomas Amador as the baptism speaker, Aunt Brandy to give the Holy Ghost talk, Dad to baptize him and he asked Uncle Bulldog to confirm him but he couldn't come so he wanted Little Grandpa Mike Wright to confirm him and then Mimi Maggie Prouty to say closing prayer. He wanted lots more to participate including Adia, Pops, Aunt Julie and Uncle Toma. My contribution was the program but he didn't ask me to do it as a matter of fact he didn't ask me to do anything but that's ok. :o)

Best Sisters McKenna is the best big sister ever!!

Cutie pies ready to go to the church for the baptism. It was great! McKenna was our pianist and wow we were so proud of her! I thought she'd back out when were told we were in the main part of the church. I thought we would be in the Primary or Relief Society Room but we weren't...that's a little intimidating or at least I would think to be up on stage infront of everyone when she's never done this before. She had lessons for a few months a couple of years ago and has taught herself so many songs out of the hymn book. When I asked Calvin who he wanted for the pianist he immediately said Kenna and she immediately agreed. Overall she did a great job! It did break my heart when she lost her place and put her hands on her head for a brief moment and began to cry but quickly got right back on track with all of us singers and stopped the tears. Poor sweetie didn't give up and we kept giving her the thumbs up signs as she carried on. One day Calvin will realize how special that was of his big sister because it sure wasn't easy playing all three songs for that many people on an unfamiliar piano.
My Parents came in Friday at noon and with all of the festivities still managed to look at homes as they are in the market for their new retirement home here in AZ. They found the house they loved and it happens to be just down the street from us unfortunately their offer wasn't accepted and they are in backup position on it so we are praying the deal falls through so they get it.

We had so many wonderful family members, ward members and friends that made this weekend so special. We really appreciate your love and support!!!

Calvin is getting Baptized today!!!

Calvin turned 8 in March but missed the stake baptism day which worked out to our favor because he is the only baptism from our ward in April and it just so happens that he is getting baptized today and his baby sister Sophia is getting blessed tomorrow! This makes it so nice for friends and family who are coming or wanted to. :o)

Calvin's daddy Will is baptizing him and his uncle Bulldog aka Steve is confirming him. He asked his Grammy to say the opening prayer, Tomas Amador to talk, Aunt Brandy to talk and his Mimi to say the closing prayer. McKenna is going to be our pianist for all three songs and Kathy Amador is the chorister.

We bought him a 5 piece suit but he will omit the vest since it's 84 degrees outside wearing the jacket is warm enough. :o) He looks so cute! He is very excited and has been so happy all morning singing and smiling from ear to ear. He is a good boy and we are thrilled he wants to get baptized and is so excited about it.

We LOVE you little boy and are so proud of the good choices you make!!!

Funny Calvin

So Thursday evening we were watching "Police Women of Maricopa County" on TV and Calvin kept asking us questions about being a police officer like:

1. Do police officers make a lot of money?

2. Do police officers get to make all of the rules?

3. The police officers are always the good guys right?

etc. So we asked him if he wanted to be one and he said well I would want to make more money than they do but I would really like to take bad guys off of the streets of Maricopa and Maricopa County. So I explained that some police officers get paid pretty well it depends on your college degrees and how many years in service etc. So then he says....well I would die for my country and being a police officer is pretty much the same thing as the military because it is for the county which is kind of like the country. He was so serious too. We were trying not to laugh and told him he would be a great police officer and that Dad (Will) wanted to be a police officer also but with diabetes made it difficult for him to get hired. We mentioned that Uncle Toma was a cop and that cousin Shaffen is a cop. So we continue watching the show and one of the lady cops was ticked off when people wouldn't get out of her way with her lights and sirens on and Calvin pipes up again and says man...if I were her I would pull over all of those cars and give them a ticket for not getting out of my way! They are supposed to move immediately even I know that and I'm just a 7 year old well almost 8 year old boy! DUH people!

As the show was nearing the end they busted this deadbeat Dad who wasn't paying his child support but not without him hiding and them having to draw their weapons and scream etc. Calvin said why are they calling him a deadbeat Dad...so Will explains that he has kids and didn't pay his child support and that is a crime. Calvin says well that serves him right then he should go to jail if he doesn't even love his kids to see them or to buy them food and clothes. So when they finally got him we were all a little excited and I Yeah they got em and then excitedly I asked Calvin if he thought I should be a cop because it would be fun and I like to punch it and drive fast? He said yeah Mom that would be so cool if we were both cops fighting crime together! Will then pipes in and says yeah that's real funny your Mom wouldn't be a good cop she would fall for every sob story told to her and be like oh you were stealing food because you are broke well here's $5 no take $10 and I'll take you to dinner. All the while laughing at the idea that I could be a cop and how I would get my butt kicked forget to turn on the lights or forget my gun. I say well I could talk the talk and walk the walk I think I could be tough or I would just call for back up or just tazzer everyone. Will continues to laugh at me and so is Calvin. I keep explaining that I could be a cop it's not unreasonable I can drive fast and can run fast for short distances etc. After a few minutes I say well you're right I probably wouldn't be a very good cop because I'm a sucker and a wimp. I would feel sorry for too many people and let them go and I'd probably get beat up my first day. Will says yeah and you are way too personal they would say I was speeding because I needed to go to the bathroom and then you said oh yes I totally understand and give them your medical history and then offer to escort them home. Calvin then says yeah Mom you are a talking machine and you would probably be talking to the guy and he'd be like LADY could you just take me to jail already and stop talking because I rather be in jail then listen to you talk all day! Of course we crack up....but I say Gosh Calvin! He's laughing and says it's true Mom you are a talking machine and starts to tell us a story about how I talked to Robyn once for more than 30 minutes when I said we were leaving. Little trader selling me out like that! ha ha

Funny kiddo!

More to the story...

so today Saturday my cousin Misty and her husband Shaffen come over from Thatcher/Safford where she's a nurse and he's a cop so I'm telling them the story. Calvin comes in and Misty says so Calvin you want to be a cop huh? He says no and looks at me like Mom! So she asks him again and he says well I don't know I still want to make more money because I don't want to be poor. I tell him remember Shaffen is a cop and he says yeah. Shaffen tells him you can still be a cop and then just marry a rich sugar Mama then you get to have all of the fun and still have lots of money, she can buy you quads, motorcycles, boats and hunting gear. Calvin says OK where do I find a rich sugar Mama but she has to be pretty like Maritza (his little Spanish senorita friend at school that he has loved for 2 years now) and I have to get married in the temple.

The days go by too fast

So Sophie is now 32 days old and I've not yet posted everything I thought I would and all of the pictures I have of her etc. I did weight her here at home today and she is 8lbs and 12oz according to our scales with all of her clothes on and a bottle in her mouth. (she cried every time I took it out) Poor baby had to be supplemented at the hospital due to her weight loss and then again when she got so jaundice and has since turned into a formula/bottle fed baby which was heartbreaking for me as every effort and lots of tears went into to trying to avoid it. She was on Similac Advanced formula and started having some difficulties with it so she was switched to the Soy formula. She seems to be following the exact path of McKenna & Calvin both had acid reflux and were allergic to practically every formula out there at least Sophie isn't vomiting like they did she only spits up periodically but she is crying more and more. We are using the best bottles possible to avoid air bubbles but she still seems to be having a difficult time with her digestive track working properly which leads to crying episodes. The gas drops help very little and she totally dislikes the taste as she makes a sour puss face every time I give it to her. Today she cried so hard and for so long she had real tears so then I had tears also. boo I feel so bad for her and wish I could fix it right away.

We are still all adjusting to having a baby and yes in case you were wondering it is so so so different to have a baby again....AWESOME and yet it feels like the very first time again but luckily this time around I know a little bit more. (only a little bit) Sophia is adorable and I can't get enough of her! I want to hold her non-stop well except when I'm ready to sleep which I don't get much of that but it's ok because I'm getting to hold her. lol Calvin and McKenna are still loving her but I think the newness has worn off a little bit but they are still very sweet on her. :o)

Well my little darling is crying...I better go but we are sure loving her and are so grateful for her to have joined our family.
